I’m pleased to report that the new fixtures for the 2017/18 season are now out! They can all be found in the relevant fixtures pages of this website as well as on the main website for the Bristol & District League.
Notable fixtures in the first month include:
- Horfield A vs. Downend A (5th September) – A tasty matchup against the reigning champions for the first game of the season. May as well start as we mean to go on…
- Horfield B vs. Clevedon A (12th September) – Always a tense affair and its reasonable to assume one or even both of these teams could be in a relegation scrap at the end of the season.
- Downend C vs. Horfield C (5th September) – Another shot at the Division 2 champions in the first game of the season. Lets knock them off their perch!
- Horfield D vs. Yate A (12th September) – Starting with possibly the hardest match in the chess calendar in Division 3. It will be a bloody battle no mater what I expect. Take them down D teamers!
In other news I am going to be doing some gradual updates to the website over August in preparation for the new season. I am still waiting on many photos and chess biographies from Horfield members for the team pages so please send them on to me.
