Our run of collective poor form has unfortunately continued into April. Our last match win was 18 March
At the end of March the A, D, and F teams all lost (here, here, and here).Only Derek and Scott managed to get a full point from their individual games.
This week B, D, and F teams went the same way.
The B team went down in a close match against South Bristol A. Rob got the sole win for us on the night benefitting from dogged resistance and better clock management, whilst Brent and Jeremy missing out on full points had a lot to do with low time when their games became critical. Match card here.
The D team’s final match of the season was away to Bath D. Wins for Piotr and Joe and a draw for Duncan gave us 2.5 points but our default on board 6 proved the difference. Match card here.
Finally the F team were out graded and outscored by North Bristol C with Tom’s draw on top board our only half-point of the night. Match card here.
Only a few matches left in the season now before we can close the books on another league season. Our main points of interest are whether the C team will finish top two in division 3, they will if they win their final two matches. And the A team need a point or two against Grendel A next week to make sure they are playing division 1 chess next year.
