The B team have struggled in Division 1 and after a run of dispiriting results leaving us adrift in the table we made the journey to Fishponds with little to play for. However pride and competition for its own sake are great motivators and we overturned the form book to beat Downend B. Weirdly the A team has lost both fixtures to Downend B and the B team have won one and drawn one. Strange days are these.
Derek held Oli with the black pieces and on 4 and 5 Mike and Rob were also able to halve their games. Brent, returning to the fold after a few years away, won his game against Graham and Jeremy scored his first point of the season against Dave on the bottom board. Phil came out worse against Reinhold, but he is not alone in that.
