The first congress since pre-pandemic. An excellently organised and attended event. Credit to Igor and his arbiters.
In the Open Steve and Phil were competing. Steve was unbeaten tying for 5th on 3.5 points and Phil finished on 50% with 2.5 points.
In the U1900 section Judd, Piotr, Joaquim and Pete were taking part. We didn’t really create any magic. Pete finished unbeaten on 3 out of 5 including draws against the top two ranked players. Judd finished on 50% with two wins (including a 70 move epic on Saturday evening) and two loses, Joaquim also got 50%, getting into the swing of things on Sunday to win his last two games. Piotr had a tough Sunday and finished on 1.5 points after starting well in his first two rounds with draws against much stronger opponents.
In the U1600 section Graham, Mike and Kana were our entrants. Kana did best with 50% (including a 120 epic in round 1), Mike finished on 2 points and Graham 1.5.
